Cost

There is no cost to apply to CUWIP or SPIN UP.

Once you apply, our goal is that every student accepted to CUWiP or SPIN UP at UCSB can register and attend. If you have any concerns about the registration fee and travel expenses, please email us at cuwip2019@physics.ucsb.edu.

Students who are accepted to attend the CUWiP conference must pay a one-time registration fee of $45, which helps offset some of the cost of the conference. Once you arrive at the conference, we will provide all lodging and meals. You can request a fee waiver after you apply, but before you register, by submitting a brief statement to APS. Detailed instructions will be included with registration information. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us.

CUWiP requests that participants ask their departments for travel funding. If you feel uncomfortable doing this or if your department is unable to provide funding, please be aware that we have additional travel funding available for CUWiP and SPIN UP participants. If you would like to request travel funding, please email us at cuwip2019@physics.ucsb.edu.
